The detection engine functions as a special purpose search engine, comparing the code under analysis to materials in the Palamida Compliance Library to accurately determine the origin of specific components of open source software. In addition, targeted search features for license, copyright, email address, URLs, and user-selected search terms add breadth to the evidence results.
Any automated analysis will typically yield a large number of matches, not all of which are relevant – false positive results.
